Brief History of the Domain of Gimli
(NOTE: This is Gimli in the 'world of darkness'. We ask that for 'realism' you take what real life information you have on Gimli and expanding it with your imagination)
Gimli has grown to an estimated population of close to 1.1 million in the summer time (thru tourism) and 900,000 in the winter months. This is an approximate number as the census does not take into account the homeless, the drifting, and of course those who have disappeared who were never known about to begin with.
Gimli is a vast sprawling metropolis with the suburbs leaking out from the city's core (much like other Canadian cities). There are roving gangs, some no more than a small group of thugs, while others number in the hundreds with extensive contacts and influence.
Gimli is now much like Winnipeg, a transportation hub in Manitoba; opening a gateway to the West and the North. Situated next to the Lake, Gimli has become a summer resort front city, spiraling upwards with possibilities for the future, while a desolate place in the winter where it seems survival of its population grows more concerned with the frigid cold.
The Sabbat had held Gimli since the early eighties, right after the population exploded and industries and growing businesses needed man power. Before then the city had not been big enough to bother founding a Camarilla presence and had been the exclusive domain of a few hardy bands of Anarchs and the Garou.
Then entered the Sabbat, who seized control over the growing city. After solidifying their hold on Gimli, the Sabbat started looking outwards. The city expanded into and over the surrounding wilderness as far as the edge of Lake Winnipeg. When all supernatural life disappeared from the nearby (and long time Camarilla) city of Winnipeg after the great flood, the Sabbat looked poised to have a stranglehold on the two major centers of Manitoba.
In their eagerness to take advantage of the sudden opportunity presented to them, the Sabbat started to muster forces and to scout the surrounding territory.
During one of these scouting forays, a party of Sabbat destroyed an extremely powerful Garou cairn. The cairn belonged to the Get of Fenris tribe, an extremely aggressive and warrior-like sect of Garou. The Garou had declared war on the Sabbat and had vowed not to rest until Gimli was purged. The Sabbat's Bishop in turn had bent his troops on decimating the Garou after a skirmish saw the final death of his childer. His fanatical desire to see the Garou destroyed had resulted not only in the loss of the chance to claim Winnipeg (a once again a Camarilla stronghold) but also in a lack of attention being paid to his own city.
It is into this breach that the Camarilla stepped. Effectively they had turned the tables on the Sabbat. Instead of holding both cities, they are now shut out completely from one and were beset on both sides by a dangerous enemy - the enraged Lupines on one side and the fledgling Camarilla court on the other.
Caught between the hammer and the anvil the Sabbat was hard pressed. Unfortunately that is exactly when the Sabbat are at their most dangerous.
War ensued for years between the three forces until the Camarilla came out the winners. This was the tale of the eighties and early 90's
And now time has passed and Gimli is now one of the crown jewels of the North. A positional outpost in nearly untamed territory staring at the Garou to the North, the Anarchs to the West, and the Sabbat strongholds to the East. Gimli has passed the test of time of internal struggle and has seen the slings and arrows of the Sabbat, including the ancient Sabbat Malkavian; 'Legion', the hundreds of shovelheads from the East, and even the insane tyranny of it's own Princes and the manipulations of it's Camarilla citizens.
But what lays ahead for a Domain that has been Camarilla for little more than a decade? What lays beneath the street of Gimli or the surrounding areas where even the Werewolves fear to tread? Word from Winnipeg is now lacking and the once again Camarilla city seems to be vacant. Time moves slowly in Gimli, but the world will not slow down for the Kindred of Gimli.
Feeding Grounds of Gimli
The Prince of Gimli and the Primogen Council have divided up the domain into feeding grounds for clans and kindred. Any area that is not claimed is considered open feeding grounds, available to any kindred.

Princes of the Domain of Gimli
The Reign of Thomas Kendrick (Ventrue) (2000 - 2002)
For two years did Thomas fight the war against the
Sabbat, leading his domain with an iron fist and two heavy calibur pistols aimed at their backs. But Thomas was fair when no
true fault could be found. In June of 2001, under Ordeal by Justicar Masako, the domain of Gimli rid itself of the Sabbat, and
thanks to Kendricks leadership, did so with few loses. Then began Kendricks courtship of Isabella Bressatte, to whom he handed
the Praxis to at the end of his reign. Kendrick moved on to serve the Camarilla and help free another domain of the
Sabbat.
The Reign of Don Isabella Bressatte-Kendrick (Brujah) (2002 - 2003)
Taking up the title of "Don" rather than Prince
due to her Italian background, Don Bressatte-Kendrick continued her reign in the fashion of her husband Thomas. Stern when
needed, understanding when wronged. The domain during this time was plagued by an elder Malkavian known as Legion who had
incredible powers of the blood. It took a year, but finally Legion gave up the game and submitted himself to execution by the
Don for what he now realized were crimes he committed. Upon Legions destruction Isabella gave up her Praxis.
The Reign of Leo Leducci (Ventrue) (2003)
Claiming Praxis of Gimli at the previous Prince's declaration of
abdication, Leducci now holds two domains, Winnipeg and Gimli. Refusing to be known as "The Lion Prince of Manitoba", Leducci
does hold the two largest cities of the province. He has been quick to consolidate his power in his recent aquisition, but his
reign has only begun...
The Reign of Jason Dumarez (Toreador) (2003)
Prince Leducci, being called to Paris by Madame Guil after little more
than six months left the Praxis vaccant, Prince Dumarez claimed it with no challengers. Still there are no concerns in the domain
of any real importance... other than the usual bickering between clans...
The Reign of Guillome du Brest (Nosferatu) (2003 - 2004)
Prince Dumarez deciding that problems occuring in his far away home
of Afghanistan need immediate attention abdicated the Praxis. gil, a Nosferatu who has resided in the domain for the past three years
now makes his bid as Prince. Revealing himself as Guillome du Brest, great-great-grandchilder of Varos Dominus himself, Ancien (French
for "Elder") Guillome has taken the Praxis at a time when strange rumors of a powerful elder named "Matthias" has risen in the North and
is coming to destroy the domain and devour the vitae of its kindred population... Are The End Times upon us? or can Guillome lead
the domain to victory again?

Ancien Guillome's Seneschal was quick to grab the Praxis after former Prince Thomas Kendrick destroyed Guillome...
his term as Prince was quick as well.

The Reign of Darik-Darik-Darik-Darik-Darik-Darik-Darik (Nosferatu) (2004 - 2005)
A long time member of the court, hailing originally from Boston and seemly shy for a long time, but always useful for a Gadget to two,
if a bit eccentric (with a strange obsession with Furbys) he rose to seneschal under Prince Gallagher, and took Praxis when she
abdicated. But trouble brewed in Gimli on Valentines Day (a night when the city hosted many dignitaries from abroad). Attacks by
the Lupines, the Fairies, and Possessed Kindred (corrupted by an ancient setite artifact) wore down Darik’s patience. When he learned
the location of the Lupines that attacked his celebration he went, in near frenzy, to blow them out of existence... and never returned.
Reign of Samuel, the Impostor (Setite) (2005)
After carefully absconding away with the easily distracted Toreador artist, Etiénne, the Setite made a bold move for prince using the
Toreador's image for a disguise. His rule was fraught with difficulty and a surprising amount of bloodshed as this "Samuel" apparently
called Bloodhunts on the entirety of Clan Setite in the Domain of Gimli all of which were executed to perfection. "Samuel" was
discovered by the bastard Childer of Lady Ophelia (Toreador), Icharus, who subdued the snake in a moment of surprise, and no small
amount of luck for the poor neonate. The real Etiénne was discovered thousands of kilometres away, enjoying a priceless and costly
vacation on the dead snake's tab. Etiénne's loyalty and identity were confirmed by incumbent prince, Don Isabella Bressatte with the
assistance of her newly selected Court.
The Second Reign of Don Isabella Bressatte-Kendrick (Brujah) (2005 - 2006)
Taking up the title of "Don" once again Isabella instituted her rule of the Domain. With Anarchs flooding the city
to use it as a base for launching raids into the Sabbat held city of Saskatoon, feeding and protecting the Masquerade had become harder
than ever before for the Camarilla citizens. Add to this a Demon in their midsts and Hunters on their door step, the Domain was under a lot
of pressure.
The Reign of Natasha Volkov (Gangrel) (2006)
Isabella Bressatte, whisked away by a mysterious visitor, left her Seneschal to take the Praxis.
No challenge was issued, so the Russian kitty-kat has become the lion, but it wasn't long before the mice started
to weave a net. With kindred politics butting heads against her blunt Gnagrel instincts, it wasn't long before
harsh words turned to bloody conflicts. She finally relinquished the throne when her own clan, backed by the entirety of the
Primogen council, demanded she step down.
The Reign of Seth Gecko (Gangrel) (Nov 2006 - May 2007)
Brutal, honest, calculating and efficient is the way of this Gangrel and so
it was the way of his Princehood as well. Subsuming the throne after the
Primogen Council tossed the last Prince from the throne, Seth took control
with courage and conviction, leading the Domain into a new era of peace. But
not for long, for soon the Sabbat attacked enmass, forcing the Prince and his
subjects to flee to Winnipeg and wage a bloody guerilla battle with the
nearly uncountable number of "shovel-heads" that roamed his Domain.
Brutally efficient as always, this old soldier waged a secret frontal
assault war that would go down in Gimli's history as the best won battle the
Domain has ever seen. In May 2007, Prince Seth Gecko finished what he felt
was his duty as a soldier and general, stepping down and advocated his throne
to his Seneschal, Ligatio of Clan Lasombra.
The Reign of Uriel Ligatio (Lasombra Antitribue) (May 2007 - Nov 2007)
The former Sabbat Lasombra known as 'Ligatio' took the final and last step
out of the shadows and into the full light of the Camarilla, subsuming the
throne peacefully and without opposition after the former Prince stepped
down. Callous, manipulative and easily insulted, the prideful Ligatio's reign lead
the Camarilla back into an era of peace and accomplishments as the Kindred
of Gimli rushed to rebuild the city they loved so dearly. While a bumpy
reign and one not without it's headaches, it was a reign that would return
decidence and balance to the Domain with both and open hand and an iron
fist. Ligatio stepped down peacefully once he felt his work was done; leaving the Domain to who ever could seize it.
The Second Reign of Courtney Gallagher (Toreador) (May 2007 - present)
